I’ve been tagged by the lovely Jo Michaels to participate in 777 Writer’s Game. Lucky number seven seems to be the theme. I’m supposed to post 7 lines from a page number ending in 7 from one of my works-in-progress, as well as tag 7 other authors to participate in the game.
The timing is great as I’ve been meaning to announce that I’ve finally finished the last draft of book 3 in the Keepers of Arden series. I’m really excited for this book. A lot more starts unfolding. A lot of answers are given. A lot of hints are dropped about what’s really going on. And we learn quite a bit about some of the characters’ backstory.
Anyway, here are the 7 lines:
With a sickening wet sound, Wilhelm pulled the blade free of his palm, biting back a groan of pain. Exhausted and head pounding terribly, he lurched to his feet, sweeping up his broadsword as he did.
“My brother is mine,” Wilhelm whispered, walking with determined steps toward Remnant. “Sansis can’t have him. God can’t have him. And you can’t have him.”
Plunging all his strength into his left arm, he drove his broadsword into Remnant’s other eye.
The book cover is well under way as well. I’ve attached a sneak peak which I’ve cropped and changed to black and white so as to keep some of it a mystery for the reveal.
As for the 7 other authors, I’d love to see what Mr. Thaddeus White is working on as well as D.Z.C., two of my favorite authors. I’m also curious about some of the authors that allowed me to contribute a short story for the anthology, Prey: Seven Tales of Beastly Terror: John Cassian, Tom Conyers, Danielle Tara Evans (no relation), and Chance Maree. I’m also dying to know what Jason K. Lewis is working on. I’m hoping it’s the fourth installment of his Adarna Chronicles.
Thank you, Jo Michaels, for including me!
